The evening's Master of Ceremony was none other than our Dutchess County Sheriff, "Butch" Anderson, who did a great job as usual. Thank you Sheriff! According to the Chairman of the Sportsman's Dinner Committee, "it is too early to give an exact number, but what I have seen so far, this was one of our best years ever". With that being said, a word of thanks goes out to the people responsible for making this event possible, from our dedicated Sponsors, Chefs, who worked tirelessly the week prior preparing our feast, The Members who gave their time setting up and cleaning up for the event and to the Ladies Auxiliary who helped prepare and serve us that great meal. But most of all, to you, the Public for supporting the Pawling Fire Department. One of the highlights of the evening was when Senator Greg Ball presented a $2,000.00 donation to Chief Everett White for the Pawling Fire Department. Thank you Senator Ball. Photos of the event will be post soon. During the first practice of this season, Bill, while demonstrating a skating drill, fell and suffered a bad break to his leg just above his skate. Since October, he has endured operations requiring pins in his leg as well as continued physical therapy. Additionally Bill has been unable to work as an electrician and forced to live on disability which is a small percentage of his weekly earnings. Bill is not expected to recover until at least late January of 2012, which has placed a significant financial burden on the Riley household. The Mite A and Mite B teams would like to help Coach Bill, especially as we approach this holiday season, with a fundraiser. During all Pawling home games at Trinity Pawling on Saturday December 17th and Sunday December 18th, the Mite A and Mite B teams will hold a Bake Sale to benefit Coach Bill. In addition, to show its support for its valued volunteers, the Pawling Youth Hockey program is donating to Coach Bill all of the proceeds that it receives on those days from the Snack Shack. In order to ensure the success of this fund-raiser for Coach Bill, we need your help. We need volunteers to bake items for sale, we need volunteers to staff a shift at the bake sale table, and we need buyers! Please contact Kurt Twaddell (see below) if you would like to assist with the baking or sales. Otherwise, please show your support for Coach Bill and our PYH volunteers by visiting the rink on those days to make a purchase or other donation. If you have any questions, please contact either of the Mite Coaches listed below: Coach Kurt Twaddell (845) 656-7889 Ktwaddell12@aol.com OR Coach Don Cepiel (845)433-1402 dcepiel@us.ibm.com Wed, 14 Dec 2011 21:42:29 GMT http://www.pawlingfire.org/apps/public/news/newsView.cfm?News_ID=62 VFW Post Presents Pawling Fire Dept with Certificate of Appreciation http://www.pawlingfire.org/apps/public/news/newsView.cfm?News_ID=61 Three members of the Hasler-Kamp Post # 215 stopped by just prior to the start of our monthly membership meeting on November 14th.
